Agricultural Chemicals (M) Sdn. Bhd. Back in the late 1960's, two Japanese investors decided to venture out to South East Asia to increase the productivity of rice cultivation. |
| Based on a market survey, Malaysia was found to be a suitable country for the expansion due to its central location in this region and the position of rice as the country's staple food.
Butterworth was selected for the factory site as land and sea transport facilities connect it to Thailand and Indonesia. It is also close to the rice bowl of Malaysia, Kedah.

In 1969, Nihon Nohyaku Co. Ltd. and Marubeni Corporation joined forces with the National Farmers' Association (NAFAS) and Pan Malaysia Cement Works Bhd.(PCM) to form Malaysia's catalyst of modern agriculture management. |

The result of this joint venture is Agricultural Chemicals (M) Sdn Bhd which became better known as ACM in the agricultural circle and had the honor to be the first company established in the Prai Industrial Complex area. After almost three decades in the business ACM is still serving the needs of the country's agricultural sector and has earned the recognition as a leading agricultural company in Malaysia.
